What are the Costs?
Orthodontic treatment generally involves 9 months to 18 months of treatment. The cost for orthodontics includes all the treatment, all the appliances and a long-term follow up for 2 years after treatment has been completed.
Simple alignment is achieved in the first 6 months and the rest of the treatment is to ensure a good bite and a permanent correction.
A consultation generally costs £100, which includes the cost of the specialist high definition x-rays. These x-rays are taken of the teeth and jaws and are necessary to provide a full and thorough diagnosis. A written report is provided to both the dentist and the patient which provides detailed information on the treatment which is required.
Orthodontic treatment itself costs generally between £3,000 and £5,000. Fees are payable in increments over a 12 month period. A firm fixed quotation is provided at the outset of treatment within a few days of the first consultation and the fee includes all costs. Braces on the inside (lingual braces) and aligners for complex patients will involve additional costs.
When are the Appointments?
Appointments are usually in the afternoon or evening. After the initial appointment which takes approximately 30 minutes, subsequent appointments last generally between 15 to 45 minutes. Treatment visits usually take place at intervals of 6 weeks over a period of 18 month followed by less frequent visits in the follow-up period.
The practice is open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) and appointments can be made by telephone on 01277 656318 or filling out the contact form on the contact us page.
